INDIA

India - February, March, April

For people interested in viewing and photographing tigers in the wild, there is no place better than India. After many trips to India, Gary and his local partners know where and when to visit with tiger sightings virtually guaranteed. India has a number of protected areas where tigers still roam freely. The trips are 12 to 14 days and include visits to the best national parks for tiger viewing. Other wildlife are encountered as well including wild boar, nilgi, axis and sambar deer plus an amazing variety of birds and in some locations, Indian bison and swamp deer.

The national parks visited include Ranthambore, Bandhavagarh and Kanha. Located in north-central India, accommodations are in upscale lodges at the edge of the parks with two game drives per day. We are up early and in the field when the light is best - early morning and late afternoon. In addition to the standard trip, visits to Gir National Park ( home of the world's only Asiatic lions) and Jawai (currently the best place to see/photograph leopards in Asia) can be arranged as add ons.

Ideal group size is 8 participants, although groups of 4 or 6 can be accommodated for a higher cost. Trips include domestic airfare, all game viewing services, transportation, local guides, park entry fees, meals and accommodations (double occupancy). International airfare is not included and you must obtain as Indian Visa prior to departure. Once in India, you pay only for beverages, tips and personal items.
